It includes such work as developing computer games, animating digital films or advertisements, developing websites, and creating artwork. The median annual salary was $77,700 in May 2020. Some courses that are required are Animation and Motion studies, Cartooning, Computer Graphics/Multimedia, Film Production, and Photography. You can go from a simple one year animation certificate to getting a doctorate degree. Colleges and universities that offer some or all of these courses are Seattle Pacific University, University of Washington, Whitworth University, DigiPen Institute of Technology, and Northwest College of Art & Design. This field interests me because I’ve been having it fairly easy using programs in my Multimedia class and catch onto it quickly. I’ve also wondered how some movies are created with such effects, and how anime is created since it’s quite distinctive from regular cartoons.
